Abya Yala is a term used by Indigenous peoples of South and Central America to refer to what is commonly called Latin America—a name rooted in colonial history. In contrast, Abya Yala reflects a sense of unity, identity, and deep connection to ancestral lands. For this project, I designed a logo composed of geometric shapes commonly found in the textiles and artwork of various Indigenous groups across the continent.
