These illustrations are based on Mesoamerican civilizations that thrived prior to the arrival of the Europeans. The aztec deity is inspired by deities such as Tezcatlipoca, a figure associated with different concepts, including the night sky, hurricanes, obsidian, and conflict. The Olmec dragon, based on a mythical creature of an eagle and a crocodile mixture, dominates both the earth and the sky. The eyes of Tlaloc, the rain god is characterized by the wide open eyes and lastly, the colossal head, which represents the massive monuments created by the Olmec, which is considered to be the Mother culture of all Mesoamerican civilizations.
